Salvadore Dali, a Spanish Surrealist artist painted "Persistence of Memory" and sculpted melting clocks. He saw time as being "soft" aarrgh! You can observe the clocks hanging ants milling in a Dali painting and in sculptures. He explained on his death bed that time was soft like a camembert melting in the sun aarrrgh!
Dali was permanently expelled from the Art Academy he attended shortly before his final exams for declaring that no member of the faculty was competent enough to examine him, Bravo! for an artistic statement in the face of a conservative and privileged Academy. Holy Kitsch! is not suggesting dropping out of school or uni willy-nilly and refers to a specific act at a specific time within specific events though rebellion is always a fantastic idea.
Dali also created a backdrop for Hitchcock's Spellbound, see Face Book Holy Kitsch! for Holy Kitsch! Likes on Hitchcock. You can jump onto it by clicking Like on our web Front Page as it is difficult to find on the web as it is attached to an older friend stylee Holy Kitsch! page
